FREE RESUME MAKER

A Free Resume Maker: You get what you pay for!

The internet is saturated with free resume templates so you don’t have to look too hard to find some examples of cv’s.

Resume makers or creators, are software programs produced to hold your hand through the process of creating a winning resume. Many applicants are now choosing the option of buying such a software package, which is downloaded to your computer, to produce the best resume possible. They consider the cost a very small price to pay for producing one of the most important documents in their possession.

Most job hunters, especially those who are not experienced in resume-writing , would rather rely on assistance from professionals in this field; people who know how to display your achievements, talents, and most marketable traits in the best light possible. Your resume may only be glanced at for one quick second, and it is the first, and possibly only impression a company will have of you. The competition in today’s job market is fierce, and taking advantage of a resume maker can give you the edge over other others. Employers are looking for sharp wording, power verbs, and strong examples of what you have accomplished in the past.

If you have been struggling with trying to write the perfect resume yourself, then a resume maker may be just what you have been looking for. The downloadable templates are very simple to use as well, as you can download them, tailor them to include the information and the appearance that you want, and then upload them wherever you choose.

Whilst there are many packages available on the internet, but you must be careful you select the right one for you.

It’s a good idea to have spent some time organising your own information as efficiantly and concisely as possible\you can. The software programme will request that you to firstly enter your personal details, such as name, address, phone, email etc, and will then move onto an overview of your talents. There will also be sections for employement to date, personal objectives, and perhaps hobbies. In all of these sections it is important to list your achievements and experience that show you are a person with a great deal to offer. You want the company to know you are worth your weight in gold! Don’t forget to include all tasks you were responsible for in previous positions, i.e, budget management, events, fund raising etc. Did you supervise other people, and if so, how many? Did you improve revenue in sales? Are there any other work-related skills you shine at? These all show initiative and employers love staff who are not frightened to take new challenges.

A few points to bear in mind when choosing a resume maker:

Is it easy to use? You are buying this product to take the stress out of producing a resume, not add to it. You want great results, and fast!

What about the design and format? Your needs may change from position to position or company to company. If it’s your first job, and not very formal, you may want something quite simple. You won’t have had a lot of job experience to show, so certain layouts that highlight previous jobs may not show you in your best light. On the other hand, If you have a lot of experience, you may need a unique format so your curriculum vitae doesn’t end up just being a chronology of your working life.

Does it look professional? It may be your first job and your applying to work in the local store, but you still want your resume to look professional and make a good impression. As we know, you never get a second chance to make a first impression!

Does a resume maker allow you to easily revise the document should you wish to? Can formatted sections be eliminated? If you are starting out and have no work experience, you don’t want a big empty “Experience” label stuck on your resume. It would be better to just drop that section out and move onto an area that will show you in a better light. Education or Qualifications would be better headers for you. Can you eliminate the headers that don’t apply to you?

Finally, compare the resume you presently have, possibly constructed from a free resume maker, if indeed you have one, to the resume a professional software creator has produced, and the choice should be clear. Just how badly do you want to land that dream job???

Where can i find a free online actor's resume maker?

January 24th, 2009

The biggest thing is to make sure it all fits on one page. I've seen too many actors try and list their roles out on several pages. The biggest things in designing it, are to make sure you list your best roles first, doesn't necessarily have to be in chronological order. Next, are you more theatre, film, commercial actor? Musical theatre? It's best to group them. Then usually the last categories tend to be any training you've had like workshops, classes, etc. and then special skills. Hope that helps!

Best Resume Example

January 19th, 2009

Your best resume sample will probably come from your local library or by contacting  your local college/university,  and asking for advice on the subect.  Most  organisations are happy to help, particuarly during this time of recession, and you can then formulate an idea from which to work from.
